One Book, One Twitter

Jeff Howe wondered... what if everyone on Twitter read the same book at the same time and formed one massive, international book club?

When "One Book, One City" programs are organized by libraries, it can get communities reading and people talking.  "The thought struck me that Twitter would provide a much better platform for a book club" Howe says, "than the mere accident of physical proximity."

Let’s love one book together, our actual geographical location be damned.

The project, "One Book, One Twitter" (hashtag #1b1t) has opened up voting for the final selection; voting will remain open for two weeks, at which point the winner will be declared.

Update: the book that's been chosen is Neil Gaiman's American Gods.
