Find Programs Faster by Sorting Them Alphabetically

Finding programs on your Windows XP All Programs menu is tough if you've got a lot of programs installed.

Each time you install new programs, Windows XP adds each new item to the end of the All Programs menu. To make it easier to find what you're looking for, you can sort them so they display in alphabetical order instead.

Here's how to sort items on your All Programs menu alphabetically:

  1. Click the Windows Start button
  2. Click All Programs.
  3. Right-click on any folder or icon.
  4. On the shortcut menu, click Sort by Name.

Any time you add a new program, you'll need to re-sort the list; Windows XP doesn't automatically keep the list in alphabetical order.
