For most documents I print, I only need a black & white copy for myself, so choose not to use the color ink cartridge or high-quality mode.
Since that's my choice for 95% of what I print, I've set that as the default mode for my printer, so I only need to tweak the settings when I want a color or best quality printout.
The default settings I've chosen are
- color: Print in grayscale
- color: Black print cartridge only
- quality: FastDraft
This how-to article shows how you too can change your printer's default settings, so you don't need to change them each time you print a document.
