How to Customize Mouse Settings to Improve Cursor Visibility

You can customize how your mouse pointer looks — its shape, speed, and visibility.  You can choose an extra-large pointer, or even an animated cursor to improve visibility.

If you use Windows Vista or Windows 7, go to Who Took My Mouse Pointer? for all the details.

If you use Windows XP, here's how to change how the mouse pointer looks...

  1. Click the Windows Start button
  2. Click Control Panel
  3. Click Printers and Other Hardware
  4. Click Mouse
  5. Click the Pointers tab.
  6. Click the Scheme dropdown list, and choose a new mouse pointer scheme.
  7. Click the Apply button.
  8. Click the OK button.
